
Colson Baker (born April 22, 1990) is an American singer and rapper. He is also popularly known as Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) as a songwriter, actor and a singer. His fusion of genres of alternative rock and hip-hop is what made him famous. The mixtapes he released were four from 2007 to 2010, before signing with Bad Boy Records. In 2012 He released Lace Up the first studio album. It reached the top spot at four in the US Billboard 200. It included his breakout single "Wild Boy", which was performed by Waka Flame. General Admission (2015) and Bloom 2017 were his third and second albums. The latter album featured the smash hit single "Bad Things" and was sung by Camila Cabello. The song peaked at fourth place on the Billboard Hot 100. The fourth album, Hotel Diablo (2019) featured the rap aspect of rock.Machine Gun Kelly debuted his fifth album, Tickets to My Downfall, in 2020; it marked a complete departure from hip hop and entry into pop punk. It was a top-ranked album on Billboard 200 and was the only rock album to achieve that rank. The track "My Ex's Best Friend" was also able to climb to the top 20 of the Hot 100. The album was followed by Mainstream Sellout (2022) that was a the same commercial success. Since then, he has been seen in the action thriller Nerve (2016), the horror Bird Box (2018) and the comedy Big Time Adolescence and the biopic The Dirt (both 2019).
